We offer the solar industry's first comprehensive platform for PV system integration.  Zep Solar's patented auto-grounding, drop-in mounting solutions greatly reduce installation time and material waste while enhancing the structural properties of solar arrays. Our hardware is designed to mate with solar modules manufactured with the Zep Groove, a specialized slot in the PV frame that enables the rapid coupling and automatic grounding of solar modules.  The Zep System requires no rails, making it easier to ship, warehouse and install.

  • Zep System I for Tile Roof Application

    Zep System I offers the fastest and least expensive way to install PV arrays for flush-mount tile roof applications. With its ability to optimize attachment point spacing in both east-west and north-south axes, Zep System I can offer a 25% reduction in roof attachment points — dramatically reducing the amount of time spent on the roof. With a series of drop-in, rock-in, and quarter-turn connections, Zep System I in- stalls without the use of lengthy rails and separate grounding hardware and is universally adaptable to third-party roof attachment solutions such as tile-hooks, hanger bolts, and flashed standoffs.

    Components


    Array Skirt
    Enhancing both function and aesthetics, the Array skirt facilitates easy front-row installation while providing a clean look at the front of the PV array (available in both clear and black finish).
    Spanner Bar, 850-1192
    The Spanner Bar is a snap-together component that spans between and connects to tile hooks or flashed attachment hardware and provides attachment point flexibility in both nominal east-west and north-south axes.
    Bar Sleeve, 850-1143
    At the end of a run of Spanner Bars, the Bar Sleeve provides a point of attachment for the Cam Foot.
    Spanner Clamp, 850-1194
    The Spanner Clamp provides a means of attachment between the Spanner Bar and the roof attachment hardware.
    Cam Foot, 850-1242
    The Cam Foot creates a structural connection between the Spanner Bars and the module frame and allows for precision height adjustability.
    Interlock, 850-1178
    The Interlock provides north-south and east-west structural and ground bond connections creating a structurally contiguous hyper-bonded array. ETL Listed to UL1703
    Universal Box Bracket, 850-1196
    The Universal Box Bracket allows rapid attachment of electrical boxes to the perimeter of the PV array. Compatible with most residential-scale transition, junction, and combiner boxes.
    Wire Clip, 850-1222
    The AC/DC Cable Clip provides a rapid and effective means of securing array wiring by snapping into the Zep Groove and sliding to create the perfect tension. It offers both sleeved and strain-relief connections and is capable of holding both DC and AC (micro-inverter) wiring.
    Ground Zep, 850-1172
    The Ground Zep provides a point of connection between the PV array and the equipment grounding conductor. One Ground Zep is required for every 36 PV modules. ETL Listed to UL467.
    Enphase Connector Bracket, 850-1209
    The Enphase Connector Bracket offers a quick and effective means of securing Enphase Energy's Engage Drop Connector directly to the Zep Groove without the use of tools or separate fasteners.

  • Zep System II for Flush Mount Applications

    Zep System II is a comprehensive platform for PV system integration that offers the fastest and least expensive way to install PV arrays. Zep System II is designed to operate with Zep Compatible PV modules that contain the patented Zep Groove frame specification (see Modules page for a list of Zep Compatible PV modules). Utilizing quarter-turn, rock-in, and drop-in connections, Zep System II eliminates the need for rails and separate grounding hardware while offering a superior aesthetic approach.

    Components


    Array Skirt

    Hybrid Interlock, 850-1174
    The Hybrid Interlock functions as both Interlock and Leveling Foot for areas where the structural attachment falls at an Interlock location.
    Leveling Foot, 850-1184 
    The Leveling Foot provides a means of attachment between the PV array and the mounting surface or flashed attachment apparatus and allows for easy array height adjustment (1.25” throw).
    Universal Box Bracket, 850-1196
    The Universal Box Bracket allows rapid attachment of electrical boxes to the perimeter of the PV array. Compatible with most residential-scale transition, junction, and combiner boxes.
    Wire Clip, 850-1222
    The AC/DC Cable Clip provides a rapid and effective means of securing array wiring by snapping into the Zep Groove and sliding to create the perfect tension. It offers both sleeved and strain-relief connections and is capable of holding both DC and AC (micro-inverter) wiring.

    The Comp Mount attachment and flashing assemble provides a means of flashed attachment for composition shingle roofs, combining superior waterproofing with a labor saving installation method.

    Zep System III™ from Zep Solar offers the fastest and least expensive way to mount PV arrays on flat roofs. With a series of drop-in and quarter turn connections, Zep System III greatly accelerates the process of commercial rooftop installation. Zep System III eliminates the need for mounting rails, requires very few parts, and simultaneously accomplishes structural and grounding connections. With far less complexity than conventional systems, Zep System III delivers both labor and logistics savings for commercial PV projects.

    Components


    Row Connector, 850-1190
    The row connector provides a point of attachment for the Front and Rear Legs and creates a rigid connection beween rows. The profile of the Row Connector accepts standard strut nuts for attaching standard strut or brackets for applications that require bracing for seismic and high wind applications.
    Ballast Pan, 850-1141
    The Ballast Pan installs, by hand, over the Row Connector and receives ballast blocks to add ballast weight to the system.
    Front Leg, 850-1165
    The Front Leg snaps, by hand, into the Row Connectors and receives the Zep Groove of Zep Compatible PV modules. The structural connections are auto-grounding.
    Rear Leg, 850-1188
    The Rear Leg rotates, by hand, into the Zep Groove of Zep Compatible PV modules and snaps into the Row Connectors. The Rear Leg automatically establishes east-west module grounding.
    Ground Zep, 850-1172
    The Ground Zep provides a point of connection between the PV array and the equipment grounding conductor and also allows for bonding jumpers at thermal breaks. One bonding jumper is required for every east-west run of 24 PV modules. The Ground Zep is ETL Listed to UL467 as a ground bond means.
    Wind Diffuser, 850-1198
    The Wind Diffuser is installed on the back side of each row and reduces uplift forces due to wind by redirecting air over and around the array, balancing air pressures across the upper and lower sides of the array.
    Diffuser Support, 850-1158
    The Diffuser Support provides additional rigidity along the upper edge of the module row and supports the ends of the Wind Diffusers.
    Enphase Connector Bracket, 850-1209
    The Enphase Connector Bracket offers a quick and effective means of securing Enphase Energy's Engage Drop Connector directly to the Zep Groove without the use of tools or separate fasteners.
